CJI and ADCC this weekend, watch it at the gym!

This weekend is a huge one for submission grappling and Jiu Jitsu as a whole. We knew ADCC (Abu Dhabi Combat Club World Championships) would be this weekend, but one of the biggest beefs in grappling history has amplified the effect this weekend will have on grappling as a whole. The CJI (Craig Jones Invitational) is also happening this weekend!

Craig has made it a point to offer athletes a chance to get paid to show up for his tournament (10,001 dollars) and a million to win it. Since he is holding his tournament at the same time (CJI Friday and Saturday, ADCC Saturday and Sunday), it has drawn some of the top talent from the ADCC competition and created an interesting situation for the whole sport. Both tournaments look to have some great matchups and we are lucky to be able to witness both events.

Some are fortunate enough to be in Las Vegas where both events are being held but for those that can't make it we will be streaming both events at our gym in Walnut Creek (10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Walnut Creek). We will be running class during some of them, but viewers are welcome to bring food and drink, and treat the other time as an open mat.

The Craig Jones Invitational will start Day 1 on Friday at 3pm Pacific, and Day 2 Saturday at 5pm Pacific. The ADCC Worlds will start Day 1 on Saturday at 10am (we will start playing after kids class ends at 12pm) and Day Sunday at 10am
